Embracing a change...

So, sometimes a person will just across something that makes them think for a second.

My thought was that I should eat more fruit

I used to eat a lot of fruit, why do I not now? I have no idea.
Probably the cost. Or my lack of sticking to what many would call a 'fad'.

I'm a vegetarian so the majority of my diet is filled with vegetables. However, I feel that I need to eat more fruit. I mean, it tastes nice, and it's healthy, so why not?! It should be noted that though my BMI suggests I'm overweight, I'm actually fit. My diet is balanced, and I'm fairly active, rarely even catching a bus. Not that I want to boast or anything. However, there's always room to be a little more healthy, hence the idea of eating more fruit.

Surely I can just cut out bad crap such as fried crisps and over priced biscuits?!

So, I went and had a healthy breakfast. Here it is:

What you see here is a fruit salad consisting of banana, apple, strawberries, grapes (red and green), and kiwi, drizzled with light cream.

Followed by a frozen orange juice with shredded mint leaves in it. Apparently mint helps with your metabolism, and I love the taste of it!

Here's a picture of the two together, just because.

Fun Fact: I actually grow my own mint. Wooh, thank you Aldi grow your own herb pot thingies!

For my dinner, Well more like afternoon snack (I have a habit of eating breakfast pretty late, but it's still the first meal of the day, and therefore breaking fast, so I call it by its' name.) I had a curly cheese crisp sandwich, it's just so light and fluffy!

For my tea, I had rice and quorn chicken pieces, with sweetcorn and carrots thrown in for good measure. I also did my usual measure of leg lunges and stomach crunches. It's become a routine, even if it doesn't do anything. Unfortunately  I did not take a photo of it, I was too busy scoffing it into my big fat gob.

I did, however, manage to take  a photo of the drink that I had with it- a frozen Apple & Mango J20 with a splash of red fruit smoothie on the top of it, with even more mint.

Later on that evening, I made a pumpkin pie- I bought the filling in a tin from Aldi. Man, I surely do love to plug Aldi in this entry. Anyone would think this was an episode of Corrrie, oh wait, that'd be Tesco- I mean Freshcos.

I'm a fan of Coronation Street too by the way.

I say some random things. Quite randomly, randomly, randomly.

Anyway, back to the pumpkin pie, I put less sugar than suggested since my Mum's diabetic, and I put less cream in it too. But, hey, pumpkin doesn't taste half that bad anyway! (I'm just going to say that because it makes the tart a little healthier.)
Here's a terrible quality photo of it for your enjoyment. There was only half left because people wanted to eat it, who'd have thought? Really, how do they do it in those cookery books, it takes a lot of self control not just eating the thing, never mind photographing it in perfect lighting.

Until next time!
